Rás og krás
– a village walk with animals, stories, and local food
Join us for a steady walk through the village of Vestmanna, where we combine fresh air, local history, and a chance to meet and feed our animals. We call it Rás og krás (Track and Delicacy).
It’s an easy walk that fits everyone – kids, young people, and adults alike. We start at Salmistova and make our way through the village to visit the animals grazing in different spots.
What to expect:
• The animals: You’ll get to meet and feed our friendly animals where they graze.
• The stories: As we walk, we’ll talk about the things we see and hear. We’ll share the history of the Salmistova and Jákupstova farms, and we will also stop by the village memorial to tell you why that place is special to us.
• The “krás”: No walk is complete without a meal. We have prepared a lunchbox for you filled with local produce from the farm. If the weather is good, we take the lunchboxes with us; otherwise, we head back to Salmistova to eat together after the walk.
It’s a simple way to see Vestmanna through our eyes and get a taste of what life here is all about.
